Vadim Krasnoselski defended himself to OSCE Chairperson Elina Valtonen, explaining why the separatist authorities do not purchase gas from the market. According to him, the reason lies in the lack of dollar and euro accounts necessary for transfers.
“We cannot buy gas. Not because we lack money but because we don’t have dollar and euro accounts. The EU allowed us to sell in Europe through DCFTA. Our enterprises are registered in Moldova. But what did Moldova do? It closed the accounts of our enterprises,” said Krasnoselski.

During the meeting with Valtonen, the separatist leader stated that Tiraspol wants Chisinau to take measures such as reopening accounts for businesses from the left bank of the Dniester, lifting taxes deemed illegal by the separatists, and ending export blockades.
Krasnoselski’s statements came just hours after Dorin Recean announced that constitutional authorities had proposed organizing and mediating gas purchases from alternative sources for the separatists, but Tiraspol refused the offer.
