In less than two weeks, Moldovan citizens will be called to the polls to elect their next president in the second round of voting. It will be the year’s battle between government candidate Maia Sandu and Socialist candidate Alexandr Stoianoglo.
In the meantime, some bloggers, in their interventions on Facebook and TikTok, are inciting xenophobic speeches. The most recent case was the attack on Alexandr Stoianoglo. For ethical reasons, Realitatea.md will not publish the video viral on the Internet.
Meanwhile, the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) team urges citizens to calm down.

“PAS strongly condemns any xenophobic attacks, incitement to inter-ethnic hatred. The campaign needs to be conducted exclusively on criteria aimed at the competence, integrity, and candidate’s character. Our position was and remains one of unity among all citizens. We are all a part of the Republic of Moldova and want to live in peace and good understanding,” reads the PAS reaction.
According to the results, PAS candidate Maia Sandu – 42.45% of the votes, followed by PSRM candidate Alexandr Stoianoglo 25.98%, garnered the most votes in the elections on Sunday, October 20. The two politicians will face each other on November 3 in the second round of elections.
