Two road sections in the Republic of Moldova are included in the trans-European network. We are talking about the route that connects the towns of Soroca, Drochia, and the customs office of Costesti from the border with Romania and the road Anenii Noi – Causeni – Stefan-Voda towards the border with Ukraine, in the direction of Odesa.
The High-Level Memorandum of Understanding between the European Union and the Republic of Moldova on the indicative maps of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) in the Republic of Moldova was signed. The document was signed online by the Minister of Infrastructure and Regional Development, Andrei Spînu, and the Director-General of the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Mobility and Transport (DG MOVE), Magda Kopczynska.

The memorandum stipulates that the Chisinau-Cainari-Bessarabca and Balti-Ocnita railway sections will also become part of the trans-European transport network. Their inclusion will facilitate the attraction of European investments for the modernization of the transport infrastructure and remove existing obstacles in the logistics operations.
The indicative maps of the Trans-European Transport Network include European transport corridors to the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine. Thus, the North Baltic Corridor has been extended through Lviv and Kyiv to Mariupol; the Baltic-Black-Agean Corridor has been extended through Lviv, Chernivtsi (Romania and Moldova) to Odesa; and the Baltic-Adriatic and Rhine-Danube corridors will pass through Lviv.
