Romanians in the Republic of Moldova can vote in the second round of the presidential elections in Romania starting Friday at noon. On Saturday and Sunday, polling stations will be open from 7:00 AM to 9:00 PM.

To exercise their right to vote for the leader at Cotroceni, Romanian citizens residing in the Republic of Moldova must present one of the following documents: identity card, electronic identity card, provisional identity card, ID booklet, diplomatic passport, electronic diplomatic passport, service passport, electronic service passport, simple passport, electronic simple passport, temporary simple passport, or military service card (for military school students).

In the second round of the presidential elections, the race for the Romanian presidency is between Elena Lasconi, the candidate of the Save Romania Union, and Calin Georgescu, an independent candidate.

The government in Chisinau has announced its support for Elena Lasconi. Meanwhile, the Bucharest press reports that Calin Georgescu supports Russia and Vladimir Putin. Georgescu has made several controversial statements in the past, including those promoting conspiracy theories.
