Moldovan driving licenses will be recognized by the authorities in Bulgaria and will be able to be exchanged without the need to take an additional exam. The announcement was made today, August 4, by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration (MAEIE) from Chisinau.
According to the MAEIE, this is possible thanks to the fact that both states have signed the Road Traffic Convention.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, following diplomatic correspondence with the Bulgarian authorities, announces that Moldovan driving licenses are recognized and can be exchanged without the need to take an additional exam. This is possible thanks to the fact that both states are parties to the Convention on road traffic. Our authorities continue their sustained efforts to facilitate the exchange of driving licenses issued in Moldova in the countries of residence of the diaspora,” the MAEIE announcement states.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Chisinau states that, in the last year, Bulgaria exchanged 226 driving licenses issued by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, the Moldovan authorities exchanged 15 driving licenses issued by the Bulgarian authorities.
