A foundation towards a European future: the outcome of Cristina Gherasimov’s meeting in Bucharest

During her working visit to Bucharest, Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov held meetings with several Romanian officials, as reported by the government’s communication department.

Discussions centered on the progress of Moldova’s European integration agenda with key figures such as Titus Corlatean, President of the Committee on Foreign Policy of the Romanian Senate, Vasile Dincu, President of the Committee on European Affairs, and George Gabriel Bologan, Adviser on Foreign Policy to President Klaus Iohannis.

“We discussed our advancements in the accession process and explored avenues for continued support from Romania. Emphasis was placed on enhancing bilateral parliamentary dialogue, particularly concerning the ongoing evaluation of aligning national legislation with EU standards,” stated Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov.

Additionally, Gherasimov met with Alexandru Ghigiu, Head of the Chancellery of the Romanian Government, and Nicolae Comanescu, State Adviser for Foreign Policy and Strategic Affairs at the Chancellery of the Romanian Prime Minister. These discussions underscored the significance of recent institutional changes, notably the establishment of the Bureau for European Integration, which will facilitate improved coordination of domestic efforts.

In concluding remarks, Deputy Prime Minister Cristina Gherasimov expressed gratitude for Romania’s unwavering support to Moldova.
