Today, Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița met with the Director of the UNDP Regional Office for Europe and the CIS, Mirjana Špoljarić Egger. The talks were centered around the bilateral cooperation in the field of justice, strengthening the energy system and issues regarding the implementation of a new UNDP Program in the Republic of Moldova.
The Chief Executive thanked the Director of the UNDP Regional Office for her assistance to our country through several projects in the field of human rights, promoting gender equality, local and regional development, digital transformation, supporting small and medium-sized businesses, etc.
„Špoljarić Egger appreciated the partnership with the Government in the implementation of the National Program for the development of cities – growth poles in the Republic of Moldova for 2021-2027, by piloting the approaches of integrated regional development in Cahul and Ungheni. UNDP has announced its readiness to extend these approaches to other regions, “the government said.
At the same time, the new Moldova – UNDP Country Program for the period 2023-2027 is almost ready. The document provides for a number of projects, aimed at developing renewable energy sources, good governance as well as measures to respond to climate change.
