A town in the country is looking for a partnership with a small village in Estonia named “Moldova”

A small village named “Moldova” in the Lüganuse municipality in eastern Estonia needs a “friendly town hall” in our country. Victor Guzun, former ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to Estonia, describes the locality as a special place with picturesque landscapes, beaches stretching to the horizon, and a rich history. He invites mayors from Moldova to establish partnerships with the village in Estonia.

“Dear mayors from Moldova. You may know that in Estonia, there is a small village called Moldova, which is part of the Lüganuse municipality, located in the eastern part of the country. It is a remarkable place with picturesque landscapes, beaches stretching to the horizon, open-hearted people, a rich history, a vibrant culture, and quality education. The entrepreneurial community is energetic. However, it is a significant injustice: Lüganuse does not have a ‘friendly town hall’ in Moldova.

I spoke with the mayor, and he is open to exploring this opportunity for collaboration along with the local council. If you are interested in such a partnership, please send a one-page letter outlining what you believe could be priorities for potential collaboration. You can send this document to victor@guzun.ee. In a few weeks, if there are requests, I will discuss the matter specifically with the Lüganuse administration. Let’s take this step together,” wrote Victor Guzun.

Under the post, some mayors from the country showed their willingness to collaborate.

The village of Moldova is part of the Lüganuse municipality, and at the 2000 census, it had a population of 21 inhabitants.
