In the wake of the European Political Community Summit, confidence in Moldova’s trajectory toward a European future has surged. Victor Chirilă, Moldova’s Ambassador to Romania, conveyed his optimism about the country’s capabilities to address significant challenges that lie ahead.
“Following the European Political Community Summit, this confidence has grown even further, and I believe that we are seen as capable of tackling major challenges concerning our future. I am referring to enhancing our security, continuing reforms, and particularly making significant strides toward European Union accession,” stated Victor Chirilă, as quoted by IPN.
Ambassador Chirilă emphasized the importance of maintaining the high level of political dialogue between Moldova and Romania. He highlighted the success of this dialogue, which has yielded remarkable results over the past two years. “Together with Romania, we have achieved candidate status for EU membership, launched a platform to support Moldova, and secured European Union backing for the initiation of a mechanism to sanction those destabilizing Moldova—especially corrupt entities collaborating with the Russian Federation. They are employing every means to hinder Moldova’s progress toward European integration and reforms, which will bring the prosperity we desire,” Victor Chirilă asserted.

He also underscored various bilateral projects, including the initiation of vital bridge construction projects for Moldova. “Several agreements have already been signed in this regard. Another three bridges are in the process of initiating feasibility studies. We are discussing energy interconnection projects and potential significant investments in our energy sector,” Victor Chirilă explained.
The Ambassador of Moldova to Romania declared that the current primary strategic objective is to launch negotiations for Moldova’s accession to the European Union through structural reforms. Achieving this objective requires support from all Western allies.
As Moldova continues to progress on its path toward European integration, the dialogue and cooperation between Moldova and its partners remain key drivers for the country’s development and its aspiration for a prosperous future.
