Approximately 450 participants – children, youths, and adults – eager to test their knowledge of the Romanian language, took part on August 31st, in Chișinău, in the National Dictation Tide. The event was organized by the Ministry of Education and Research on the occasion of Romanian Language Day.
The event began with congratulatory words from the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, and the Minister of Education and Research, Dan Perciun.
During the event, Maia Sandu awarded the Presidency diplomas to the five winners of the essay competition on the topic “Why the Republic of Moldova should be part of the European Union?” The Minister of Education and Research also presented prizes on behalf of the competition partners.
The Grand Prize – a voucher of 10,000 lei and another of 3,000 lei – was awarded to Borș Marina. Four other participants: Filimon Anastasia, Racu Maria-Victoria, Mija Boris, and Lavric Olivia received vouchers worth 2,500 lei each and vouchers worth 3,000 lei each.
The Ministry of Education specifies that the winners of the National Dictation Tide will be announced by September 10th, to be selected by a specialized committee formed by the Ministry of Education and Research.
Romanian Language Day is celebrated in the Republic of Moldova every year on August 31st, starting from the year 1990.
