Chisinau International Airport Allocates Commercial Spaces and Extends Tender Deadlines

Chisinau International Airport has assigned five out of 13 commercial spaces offered in a tender contest. These spaces, designated for “rent-a-car” services, will be leased at prices more than three times higher than the current charges, reports IPN.

The airport announced it will republish two additional lots on March 21.

For six other lots, where only one participant qualified, the airport extended the deadline for submitting applications to March 28. Applicants can submit their documents daily at the Airport Building, 80/3 Dacia Blvd, Chisinau, between 08:00 a.m. and 05:00 p.m.

Two years ago, the state took over the management of Chisinau International Airport after Avia Invest SRL managed it for 10 years. The authorities terminated the concession agreement due to the concessionaire’s failure to meet investment obligations. Recently, they decided to stop holding tender contests for leasing spaces designated for public catering, as past contests yielded no results. Consequently, the airport now manages these spaces directly.
