From today, the Monitoring Commission co-rapporteurs of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE) start their working visit to Moldova. During July 1-3, the commission members will study the latest political developments in Moldova: preparations for the presidential election, the constitutional referendum, and the implementation of voting by mail.
Also on the agenda are discussions on foreign interference, progress in the justice reforms, and external evaluation of judges and prosecutors.
The program of the visit includes meetings with President Maia Sandu and Foreign Minister Mihail Popshoi, as well as with Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu, PAS faction chairwoman Doina Gherman, and deputies of the Communist and Socialist Bloc faction.

The parliamentary press service said that discussions are planned- with the SIS director, Alexandru Mustiatia, Prosecutor General Ion Munteanu, the head of the Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office, Veronica Dragalin, members of the commission for the certification of judges and prosecutors, as well as representatives of the Central Electoral Commission. Experts and representatives of civil society will organize meetings.
The last time the co-rapporteurs of the PACE Monitoring Commission were in Moldova was four months ago.
