Cold weather in Sweden and Finland. WHERE Moldovans can turn for help

To the attention of Moldovans in Finland and Sweden. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of the Republic of Moldova (MFAEI) announces that the authorities of the mentioned countries have issued a travel alert due to the decrease in temperature and unfavorable weather conditions in a part of the country.

Therefore, the Swedish Meteorological Institute has issued a severe weather warning for the Skane and Blekinge regions.

“The Finnish Meteorological Institute, due to unfavorable weather conditions, has issued an orange code throughout the country. Significant precipitation, up to 25 cm of snow, and low temperatures down to – 40°C are expected.

Under these weather conditions, delays in public transport traffic, cancellation of trips, blocking and closure of routes are possible,” the authorities said.

The alert is valid until 6 January 2024.

In this context, citizens are urged to check weather warnings before planning their travel and the availability of alternative travel routes.
