Several emblematic monuments of Moldova’s historical and cultural heritage have recently been restored and renovated with the support of the European Union. Through its investments, the EU contributes to preserving the authenticity of these landmarks, ensuring they remain treasures for future generations.
Among the renovated sites are the iconic Tighina Fortress, a symbol of Moldova’s medieval defense system, and the Soroca Fortress, famous for its strategic importance during the 15th and 16th centuries. Visitors can also admire the revived Chisinau Circus, a unique architectural gem from the Soviet era, once a vibrant entertainment center.

In Soldanesti, the restored Water Tower highlights the beginnings of local infrastructure, while the renovated Water Mill in Beloti reveals aspects of Moldova’s traditional village life. The Macri-Donici family crypt, located within the Manuc Bei Manor complex, has also been brought back to life, showcasing the region’s rich aristocratic heritage.

The restoration efforts include the Ruins of Tipova Monastery, a site linked to Moldova’s spiritual and cultural past. Additionally, the Bell Tower in Vadul Rascov and the facade of the former Savings Bank and Treasury building in Tighina, dating from the interwar period, have been carefully renovated to preserve their historic value.
