In the coming month, Moldova will host different cultural events that promise to entertain, inspire, and bring people together. Whether you’re a fan of traditional folklore, contemporary music, or cinematic art, you’ll find an event that perfectly suits your preferences.

An Evening of Classical Music at Butuceni

For the third consecutive year, the Moldova National Youth Orchestra (MNYO) is organizing a unique classical music concert at sunset. Seventy young musicians from Moldova, Romania, Ukraine, England, Spain, Austria, Hungary, Lithuania, and Israel will perform in unison, guided by the baton of Joske Sirvend, one of the most renowned German conductors nowadays.

The diverse program includes works by composers: Constantin Silvestri, Ottorino Respighi, Camille Saint-Saëns, Johannes Brahms. Soloist: Marius Malanetchi – cello (Moldova/Austria)
Event venue: Cultural-Natural Reserve ”Orheiul Vechi” and Eco-Resort “Butuceni.”
Ticket price: 200 lei.

Hodina Fest

For those who love relaxation, Hodina Fest 2024 is the perfect event. It will take place in Pohrebea, Dubasari district, approximately 30 km from Chisinau. The event organizers meticulously prepared four separate relaxation zones for body, soul, gourmands, and parents.

  • For the body: massage, face fitness, sadhu board, pilates, nutrition workshop, yoga, kayaking on the Dniester.
  • For the soul: clay plate painting, bouquet workshop, aromatherapy, fizzy bath bombs.
  • For gourmands: vegetarian food and seafood.
  • For children: zipline, Genius Academy, Educasa, plaster and bag painting, braiding, storytelling.

Artistic program: Tatiana Turtureanu, GUZ, MNYO, Mahaya, Frate Gheorghe.
Dress code: the colors of the sun (yellow, orange, beige, ochre).
Ticket price: from 100 to 700 lei.

BelEU Fest

Join us in Slobozia Mare, Cahul district, on August 10 for the 3rd edition of “BelEU Fest” at Lake Beleu, within the “Prutul de Jos” biosphere reserve. Under the motto “United in Diversity,” the event will feature a folk costume parade, local traditions, and discussions on environmental protection, sustainability, and tourism.

Enjoy the Craftsmen’s Fair, interactive craft workshops, and exhibitions of paintings and European investments. Indulge in local delicacies and participate in a traditional sewing workshop. The evening will conclude with a concert of popular and modern music.

BelEU Fest is a day of culture, education, and fun for the whole family. Organized by AO “Institutum Virtutes Civilis,” funded by the Soros Foundation Moldova, and co-financed by USAID, in partnership with Slobozia Mare City Hall, the Ministry of Culture, and Cahul District Council.

“Alive in Mo…” Movie Screening

For film enthusiasts, especially those who appreciate local productions, we invite you to watch the film Alive in Mo…. This film, which won the Audience Award at the European Film Festival (FFE) in Bucharest, explores how far one can go to follow their dreams and do what is right. Featuring Catalin Lungu and Boris Bechet, the film is directed and written by Grigore Bechet.

Event date: The screening will occur on August 3 at 3:00 PM at 145 Columna Street. Ticket prices range from 60 to 200 lei.
