According to Eurostat, 1.8 million citizens were found to be in the European Union illegally in 2022, a 59% increase from 2021.
According to statistics, 141,000 citizens were denied entry to the EU, and 1.08 million were found to be illegally in one of the EU countries.
Eurostat’s data show that the Republic of Moldova is in fourth place on the list of countries whose citizens were denied entry to one of the EU states. We are talking about 7,000 citizens of Moldova.
Ukrainians are in the first place, followed by Russia.
