Entrepreneur Alexandru Gutsu: Moldova Can Bring the EU the Missing Moldovan Charm

Alexandru Gutsu, General Director of the German Diagnostic Center, a foreign-owned provider of high-performance medical services in Moldova, believes that the Republic of Moldova can progress swiftly and securely on its European path with a strong partner like the European Union. He sees EU support as a key factor in helping the country’s citizens escape poverty and daily struggles. The clinic offers cutting-edge medical services. It is committed to contributing to Moldova’s development.

In a video interview for an informational and electoral education campaign on Moldova’s European integration, Gutsu shared his impressions of Europe and his expectations from the EU.

“The stark contrast between the EU’s prosperity and beauty and the poverty here struck me. In Europe, people live freely and embrace diversity, while in the 1990s, we faced constant worries and hardship. Although we progress, a strong partner like the EU would enable us to advance faster and more securely. I expect the EU to contribute as a reliable partner to the country’s development, while Moldova can offer the Union its unique Moldovan charm,” said Gutsu.

Looking ahead, Gutsu envisions “a prosperous and beautiful Moldova, with solid infrastructure, where all ethnicities live in harmony, rights are respected, laws function effectively, state institutions care for the country, and the private sector drives development.”

His interview is the fourth in a series featuring Moldovan entrepreneurs, aimed at engaging the business community in supporting the referendum on European integration, scheduled for October 20, 2024.

This message is part of the information and electoral education campaign on Moldova’s European integration.
