Primary schools, secondary schools, and high schools in the Republic of Moldova can be renovated with the financial support of Germany. In this regard, the Ministry of Education and Research has launched a project competition for 100 institutions that will undergo improvements in water and sanitation conditions.
To participate in the competition, the institution managers must complete a form, which can be accessed HERE, and the deadline for submitting applications is October 31, 2023.
The form will include information about existing equipment, technical conditions of the facilities, needs for improving water supply, sanitation, and hygiene systems.
The total budget allocated for this purpose amounts to approximately 85 million lei, and the program is carried out with the support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany, through the German bank Kreditanstalt für Wiederaufbau (KfW).
At the beginning of the year, 178 educational institutions faced issues regarding access to water and sanitation. Among these, 60 schools, secondary schools, and high schools are currently undergoing projects for the construction or major renovation of sanitary blocks.
