“RUPOR answers” is the new project of our colleagues from the rupor.md editorial office. They ask the authorities for explanations and clarifications regarding how certain current problems will be solved.

Since Moldovans are interested in the COVID-19 situation in our country, the guest of the show was Ștefan Gheorghiță, epidemiologist, employee of the National Public Health Center.

According to him, since the beginning of August there has been an essential decrease in the number of cases of infection with COVID-19.

Asked if an “explosion” of flu cases is possible in October-November, the epidemiologist said that the data is different from year to year.

“In the 2019-2020 season, 3258 cases of seasonal flu were registered. Last year, the AH1N1 flu virus circulated and 421 cases were recorded. This season, no flu cases have been recorded yet, and very few have been recorded in Europe.”

The specialist also declared that, in order to deal with the virus, at the beginning of October, more than 200 thousand doses of flu vaccine will arrive in Moldova.
