Moldovan judges want higher salaries. The magistrates addressed the Parliament with this request. They justify their request through the Decision of the Constitutional Court of December 6, 2022.
“275 judges from the courts of the Republic of Moldova, from all levels, submitted an address to the Parliament of the Republic of Moldova requesting that the decision of the Constitutional Court of December 6, 2022 be taken into consideration when establishing the reference value through the State Budget Law” , it is stated in the message of the magistrates, published on Facebook.

Now, a first instance judge with less than 6 years of experience receives 20,600 lei per month. If the change is implemented in the budget, his salary will reach 27,795 lei, writes Europa Liberă.
A judge from an appeals court with less than 15 years of work experience has a salary of 24,945 lei, and after increasing the “reference value” it could be 33,500 lei.
SCJ judges and CSM members with less than 16 years of experience now receive 30,654 lei per month. After the increase, their wages could be 41,266 lei.
