MAI’s Revenco Announces Termination of 10 ‘Sterile’ Agreements with CIS

The Ministry of Internal Affairs has 39 agreements within the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS), out of which 10 are set to be terminated, announced the Minister of Interior, Ana Revenco.

The official mentioned that the mentioned agreements are “sterile”. According to her, the document denunciated on Wednesday regarding the exchange of information at the border is being terminated because Moldova no longer shares a border with the CIS following Ukraine’s withdrawal from the Community.

Revenco further specified that proposals to denunciate nine other agreements will be submitted to the Executive for approval at upcoming sessions.

On Wednesday, the termination of the agreement on the exchange of goods was also announced. Previously, the Speaker of the Parliament, Igor Grosu, declared that Moldova is leaving the CIS Parliamentary Assembly.
