Maya Sandu on the referendum: “The surveys we are observing indicate strong participation”

Maia Sandu considers that a higher number of voters on the electoral lists relative to the actual number could concern the referendum’s validity. At the same time, the future presidential candidate mentioned during the ”In profunzime” program on PROTV that the surveys indicate a sturdy intention to participate.

Therefore, according to Maia Sandu, mobilization for the elections is necessary. Otherwise, failing to validate the referendum would mean a missed opportunity for the Republic of Moldova.

”Surveys indicate a strong level of participation. The issue is not low participation but the number of voters listed. We know the number is higher than the actual number of voters, affecting the reported turnout. It is a cause for concern. We cannot relax; we must mobilize and go to vote. (…) Failure to validate the referendum means a lost decision and an extraordinary opportunity,” stated Sandu.
