The Minister of Justice, Veronica Mihailov-Moraru, participated in the civil society platform “European Union-Republic of Moldova,” during which she presented the status of implementing the commitments undertaken by our country in the process of joining the European community, especially considering that six out of the nine conditions fall under the purview of the Ministry of Justice.
Veronica Mihailov-Moraru provided updates on the areas where significant progress has been achieved and also on those where the Ministry of Justice is actively working and making substantial efforts to bring things to completion. These areas include:
- Judiciary reform.
- Combating corruption and the de-oligarchization plan.
- Human rights protection.

The Minister of Justice engaged in an exchange of opinions with representatives of civil society who have been monitoring the progress of implementing these conditions, acknowledged the progress made in the field of justice, and received recommendations. “Civil society plays an important role in the reform process, and only together can we succeed in our European journey,” Veronica Mihailov-Moraru mentioned during the discussion session.
The civil society platform “European Union-Republic of Moldova” was established under the Association Agreement and consists of representatives from civil society in both the EU and our country. It serves as a forum for meetings and the exchange of views on matters related to the implementation of the Association Agreement, as well as the developmental challenges facing the Republic of Moldova. The twelfth meeting of the platform took place as part of the “Civil Society for European Integration” project, funded by the EU.
