Environment Minister Sergiu Lazarencu is in New York these days. He is attending the 19th United Nations Forum on Forests.
“Environmental problems have no borders, and we can ensure effective solutions only through common commitments at national, regional, and international levels. Progress in society is advancing much faster than the growth forests rate. So, we are determined to contribute to the forest’s conservation, protection, and accelerated growth. In this context, we talked about our country’s commitment to implement the National Program for the Expansion and Rehabilitation of Forests, which foresees the planting of 145 thousand hectares of forests in the next ten years,” Minister Lazarencu wrote in a Facebook post.
The presentation highlighted how national forestry priorities contribute to European and global commitments to conserving and sustainably managing forest resources.
