The European Commission’s draft report that evaluates the degree of fulfillment of the Community acquis of the Republic of Moldova is a rather worrying signal from Brussels. The opinion was expressed during the show “Ora Expertizei” on jurnal.md.
PAS deputy Vasile Grădinaru emphasized that the draft report of the European Commission, which shows that our country records worse results than Ukraine and Georgia in the application of European legislation, reflects the situation in the Republic of Moldova in May 2022.
“Everyone knows who governed until 2021 and how they were moving in a completely opposite direction than that of European integration. Of course, after years of government with Plahotniuc, Dodon, Șor, there was no way we could have legislation close to the European one. After I took over the mandate, I started efforts on this dimension. The war started, and for two months we focused on solving the problems of migration, and the economic effects, but at the same time, we were also dealing with adjusting the legislation. From May until now, practically at every meeting laws were approved regarding the connection of the legislation to the European one”, mentioned Vasile Grădinaru.

“We received the EU candidate country status as a certain bonus, as an encouragement to do our homework later. It’s nothing serious, but it’s a rather worrying signal from Brussels. I also said that in the “fight with the oligarchy” chapter, Brussels will not give us any kind of deadline, because the Republic of Moldova is the weak point of the Europeans, we are the European Sicily. A combative reform of justice was promised, but we see very dubious sentences given in recent weeks”, believes political analyst Roman MihăieÈ™.
We specify that, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in the fall, the European Commission will also publish the “enlargement package”, which will also contain the progress report on the Republic of Moldova.
“The EU is no longer playing with us and we have to take all comments seriously. They will praise us, but they will beat us where we deserve it, so that we take steps forward”, commented journalist Valeriu Saharneanu.
