Moldovan Public Opinion Shifts Positively Towards the EU, Survey Reveals

According to an annual public opinion survey in the Republic of Moldova in 2023, Moldovans have an increasingly positive view of the European Union. They mention good relations between our country and the EU and trust the EU more than ever in the past eight years.

62% of Moldovans have a positive opinion of the EU (+10% compared to 2016), compared to only 8% who have a negative opinion (down from 17% in 2016). Given that the Republic of Moldova was granted candidate status for the EU last year, 78% of respondents say that Moldova has good relations with the EU, more than at any other time since surveys began. The EU enjoys more trust (63% of those surveyed) than any other international institution.
