Moldovan Students to Learn About European Integration in the First Lesson of the Academic Year

Students in the Republic of Moldova will learn more details about the European integration of the country into the European Union and the stages that our republic needs to go through in the coming years in the first lesson of the 2023/2024 academic year. The announcement was made by the new Minister of Education and Research (MEC), Dan Perciun, during a live intervention on Facebook.

According to Perciun, MEC will propose several thematic activities for September 1 by the middle of August.

“We are preparing for September 1. This week, we had a meeting with the interns from the government, with our colleagues from the General Education Directorate to work on the proposal for a teaching project for September 1. The selected theme is related to the European integration of the Republic of Moldova, and by the middle of this month, we will propose certain activities to be carried out on September 1 by educational institutions,” the minister specified.

Thus, students will be informed that the Republic of Moldova has obtained the status of a candidate country and that negotiations for accession to the EU will be initiated by the end of the year.

“We consider it appropriate to address this topic, even on September 1,” Minister Perciun emphasized.

It should be noted that the first lesson of the 2022/2023 academic year was dedicated to the fallen heroes in the 1992 war on the Nistru for the defense of the integrity and independence of the Republic of Moldova.
