Voters on the left bank of the Dniester may cast their ballots in 15 constitutionally controlled localities during the presidential elections on October 20, 2024, and in the referendum where they will express their opinion on the European integration of the Republic of Moldova. The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has published the preliminary list of polling locations.

Preliminarily, voters on the left bank of the Dniester will be able to vote in Soroca, Floresti, Causeni, Stefan Voda, Rezina, Soldanesti, Orhei, Dubasari, Criuleni, Anenii Noi, Chisinau, Balti, Cahul, Calarasi, and Ungheni.

“The Electoral Code stipulates that when establishing these polling stations, the Central Electoral Commission considers data from the State Register of Voters related to voter turnout in the last three elections. Additionally, it considers information or proposals from entities responsible for reintegration and security policies. In preparing these proposals, they will consider administrative and territorial organization, access routes, and communication specifics, as well as ensuring voter access to the electoral process and relevant electoral bodies,” report the CEC members.

The final decision on organizing polling stations for the presidential elections and constitutional referendum on October 20, 2024, will be made by the Central Electoral Commission by September 15, 2024.
