President Maia Sandu met with the Romanian Foreign Minister

President Maia Sandu met today, July 5, with Romanian Foreign Minister Luminita Odobescu, who is in Chisinau for the Trilateral Meeting Republic of Moldova – Romania – Ukraine.

During the meeting, the Head of State thanked the authorities in Bucharest for the constant support offered to our country and added that Romania is one of the most important donors to the Republic of Moldova.

The Romanian state is actively contributing to the “European Village” program implementation by rehabilitating, expanding, and modernizing the water and sewage systems in the villages of our country.

“With Romania’s support, we are also developing educational infrastructure, including the school buses purchase and the student dormitories renovation. This year, Romania will support the renovation of the Cahul State University dormitory. The President expressed her gratitude for the constant support given to Chisinau in the accession to the European Union and for the assistance provided to Ukraine,” reads the Presidency press release.

Maia Sandu also emphasized that the Republic of Moldova will continue progressing on its European path. Sandu stressed that the government does its utmost to make the initiated reforms. She also discussed bilateral energy, infrastructure, health, and education projects.
