In a surprising turn during Moldova’s EU accession referendum, the YES option gained more votes than the NO, despite initial reports from the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) showing a majority against it.
This shift is based on data from 2,184 (98.42%) of the 2,219 processed protocols, representing 1,463,649 votes.
So far, 732,967 voters (50.08%) have voted YES, while 730,682 voters (49.92%) have chosen NO.
As the count nears completion, the gap continues to widen in favor of YES, driven by votes from polling stations in the diaspora.
