Moldovan singer Dan Balan, who lived and sang in Ukraine some time before the Russian invasion, surprised everyone by suddenly speaking Ukrainian. He addressed his fans in the neighboring country with a video on his Instagram account, Cancan.md wrote, referring to Ukrainian media.

The musician announced that he had arrived in Odessa, where his concert would soon occur in a nightclub. Therefore, he invited Ukrainian fans and spoke in their state language.

“Hello, Odessa. I am already in Ukraine and looking forward to meeting you on Friday,” said Dan Balan.

It’s unclear how long the musician has known the language, but his stance on the war is well-known. In the early days of the invasion, he posted a message with the flag in blue and yellow colors in support of Ukraine.

According to rumors, on February 24, 2022, Dan Balan was in Kyiv, then managed to come to Moldova. Later, information emerged that he went to Turkey and wrote new songs. In 2023, Dan Balan released a music video for the song “Love Maria,” filmed before the war with Ukrainian schoolchildren. In late June of this year, he unexpectedly came to Ukraine to show how he had spent his time in Bukovel.
