The CEC has questions about the financing of parties controlled by Shor and Victoria Furtuna. It Extends Deadline for Political Party Financing Audit Until May 31, 2025

The Central Electoral Commission (CEC) has extended the deadline for completing the financial audit of several political entities until May 31, 2025. The audit covers the Political Party “Party for the Future of Moldova,” Political Party “RENASTERE,” Political Party “Alternative and Salvation Force of Moldova,” Political Party “Chance,” Political Party “VICTORIE,” as well as the initiative group and the electoral campaign of independent presidential candidate Victoria Furtuna. The financial review examines activities conducted between July 1, 2024, and October 31, 2024.

According to CEC Decision 3141/2025 of October 25, 2024, the original deadline for the audit was March 31, 2025, with the option to extend it if necessary. During the investigation, officials identified multiple political and electoral promotion activities requiring additional verification. The CEC deemed it necessary to cross-check financial data with records from the police, the State Tax Service, local public authorities, and private entities that provided services, including venue rentals for political events.

A preliminary analysis of the collected data revealed factual elements raising reasonable doubts about the accuracy of financial reports submitted by the entities under review. To verify these concerns, the CEC will conduct further cross-checks and documentation.
