The Republic of Moldova will host the Euronest summit on June 1, 2023, which is expected to be attended by 47 heads of state. However, the Moldovan authorities started preparations well in advance. The Commission on Emergency Situations decided to resume the activity of the VIP-lounge on the territory of the Chisinau International Airport.
“The VIP Lounge at the Chisinau International Airport has been renamed to the Express Lounge and its activities have resumed. The Ministry of the Interior and its subordinate institutions will follow the same procurement procedure that was previously applied by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration”, the government said in a statement.
Last week, the authorities allocated 6.5 million lei for the repair of roads along which the cars of European leaders will drive and for the transport they will be provided with.
The Euronest summit will take place on June 1 in Chisinau. 47 presidents and heads of government are expected at the event, as well as the arrival of other heads of the European Union. Leaders meeting in Chisinau will discuss joint efforts to achieve peace in the context of the war in Ukraine and related crises, the defense of democracy, the strengthening of energy security and the resilience of European states.
