The EU will supplement the funding for two programs in Moldova with 40 million euros. The number of beneficiaries is increasing

The European Union will supplement the non-reimbursable financial assistance provided through two programs. Local and central public authorities, educational institutions, and non-governmental organizations can benefit from these programs. The growing number of potential beneficiaries who applied to these programs caused an increase in grants. Thus, the total funding will increase by 40 million euros. Foreign Policy and European Integration Committee’s members approved the advisory opinion to amend two agreements for this.

The Republic of Moldova, the European Commission, and the Ministry of Development, Public Works, and Administration of Romania will amend the Financing Agreement for the Interreg VI-A NEXT Romania – Republic of Moldova Program. Currently, the Program has a value of 77.3 million euros and focuses on priority areas such as health, education, tourism, culture, climate change, good governance, and border management. The Program plans to invest in equipment, modernization, training, and information campaigns. The budget will increase by 20 million euros, bringing it to 97.3 million euros.
