The Government investment promotion program “373”: 3.5 billion lei were invested in the national economy

Beneficiaries of the 373 governmental program have invested over 3.5 billion lei in the national economy. Approximately 2.4 billion lei of this amount comes from loans, with the state compensating the interest to support 750 investment projects.

These investments drive the growth of companies that employ about 8,400 people and will create an additional 1,969 jobs.

Enterprises from various activity sectors participate in the 373 program. The production and energy sector received the largest investments, accounting for about 45% of the total investment value. Transportation and storage represent another significant area, with a 16% share, similar to the processing industry. Additional investments target health and social assistance, agriculture, forestry, and fisheries.

The geographical distribution of investment projects spans all Moldovan districts, with values proportional to the number of companies in each region. The Centru region and Chisinau city lead with over 1.2 billion lei each. The North region has attracted 686 million lei, the South region 185 million lei, and the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia 120 million lei. The average loan value stands at 3.2 million lei.

Launched in July 2023, the 373 program underwent significant improvements in spring 2024. The government increased the maximum loan amount from 15 million to 40 million lei and allowed financing for raw material purchases, up to 30% of the investment project’s value. The Loan Guarantee Fund raised the maximum guarantee ceiling from 40% to 80% of the loan’s value.

According to the National Statistics Bureau, changes led Moldovan companies to increase their investments for three consecutive quarters in 2024.
