Entrepreneurs have two more days to submit their files to a grant competition for the creation or development of social enterprises, within the project “We capitalize on the potential of civil society for the promotion and development of social entrepreneurship in the Republic of Moldova”, financed by the European Union and the Europe team.
The East European Foundation, with the support of the European Union and Sweden, announced at the end of October a grant competition for the creation or development of social enterprises. It aims to support civil society organizations in order to create and/or develop social businesses aimed at creating jobs and opportunities for the social-professional integration of vulnerable groups, which will subsequently contribute to the well-being of citizens and communities.
Through the grants offered in this competition, the following activities will be supported:
- Creation of viable and profitable social enterprises, which will ensure the reinvestment of profit in the social entrepreneurship business until reaching the optimal profitability threshold. Afterward, the profit will be directed towards directly supporting disadvantaged groups and solving social problems associated with these groups. The business idea must respond to a persistent social need in the community/region and will lead to its solution or the enterprise will employ people from disadvantaged categories (people with special needs, rural women, unemployed youth, ethnic minorities, freed people from detention facilities, etc.)
- The development of social enterprises that bring direct benefits to disadvantaged groups, for example, people with special needs, women from rural areas, unemployed youth, ethnic minorities, people released from detention institutions, etc., or solve social problems associated with these groups.
