The situation in the Security Zone is calm, without changes compared to the previous period, announces the Delegation of the Republic of Moldova in the Unified Control Commission (CUC), following the information on the ground.
“The flow of people and means of transport through internal customs posts remains constant in the current week, the number of checkpoints is unchanged, the staff of the posts has not been supplemented or armed, no movements of troops or military equipment have been fixed. No violations of discipline were reported among the peacekeepers. The delegation of the Republic of Moldova in the Unified Control Commission continues to monitor the evolution of the situation in the Security Zone”, the CUC press release states.

The Unified Control Commission is the governing body of the pacification mission in the Security Zone which includes the localities located along the Dniester River, on both banks. The delegation of the Republic of Moldova in the Unified Control Commission represents the interests of the Republic of Moldova and provides multilateral assistance to the process of peaceful and political settlement of the conflict in the Transnistrian region of the Republic of Moldova.
We specify that in the last few days information has been circulating on social networks that in the security zone, on the border with Ukraine, the military is mobilizing with defense equipment.
At the same time, the Russian Ministry of Defense declared that the authorities in Kiev intensified preparations for the invasion of the Transnistrian region.
