The government seeks solutions to help Moldovan carriers whose trucks are stuck in the Russian Federation. Prime Minister Dorin Recean made the statement after businessmen wrote to him and asked for his support.
“This approach is under consideration. The government is looking for a solution to protect the decisions of Moldovan economic agents,” the head of the cabinet of ministers said.
Moldovan haulers will no longer be able to travel through Russia in 2025, and dozens of trucks remain stranded and unable to return to Moldova. The Moscow authorities excluded our country from the list of countries for which they extended the authorization until January 31, 2025.

Economic agents claim that according to “Article 11, paragraph 4 of the Agreement between the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the Government of the Russian Federation on International Road Transport of May 31, 2017, authorizations for international goods transport are valid until January 31 of the following year”. The Russian authorities, however, require the document issued for 2025 and do not allow the movement of vehicles to the Republic of Moldova.
