Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița opens the brackets of the announcement made yesterday, in Chisinau, by the President of the European Council regarding a possible “arming” of the Republic of Moldova. The chief executive says it is not weapons or attack equipment, but non-lethal assistance. According to Natalia Gavrilița, the security crisis in the region is closely monitored both by state institutions and by the country’s external partners, and the data show that, for the time being, there are no risks of involving the Republic of Moldova in the war.
Yesterday, during his visit to Chisinau, the President of the European Council, Charles Michel mentioned that the European Union has a duty to support the Republic of Moldova, informs ipn.md.
“It’s about assistance in the European peace program. And it’s about non-lethal equipment. It is equipment for the support of the military medical service, equipment for the battalion of engineering engineers. It is not about weapons or attack equipment. During this period, even neutral countries need to prepare. We are confident that we will be able to maintain peace and stability, at the same time we are vigilant and see how we can improve our communication protocols, ” said Premier Gavriliță said during the show “Punctul pe Azi” on TVR Moldova.
According to the European official, Brussels is considering additional military support for the Chisinau authorities. Prime Minister Natalia Gavrilița says that the European Union will not provide the Republic of Moldova with weapons, but non-lethal equipment.The Chief Executive says that although recent incidents in the Transnistrian region have panicked society, the risk of a military attack on the Republic of Moldova is minimal.
Natalia Gavrilița says that the state authorities are prepared for any scenario, but, for the time being, there are no major reasons for concern.
