These figures were released by Deputy Radu Marian, who emphasized the importance of an irreversible path toward European integration. He noted that external partners support Moldova when it demonstrates it is on the right track.
“External partners from the democratic world are helping us more than ever! From 2021 to August 2023, the Republic of Moldova received donations from external partners totaling 8.7 billion Moldovan Lei (excluding preferential loans) – over 2 times more than during the 9 years of communist governance from 2001 to 2009 (see graph below). This money has gone towards bill compensation, kindergarten and school renovations, road repairs, and much more,” the deputy wrote on his Facebook page.
Radu Marian highlighted that this unprecedented level of support from external partners is crucial for Moldova, especially during a challenging period when the country faces economic and energy-related pressures from Russia.
“The openness of the EU, Romania, the USA, and all external partners is unprecedented for Moldova. This is why it’s crucial to commit irreversibly to the European path, vote for pro-European mayors, and bring European living standards to our homes. External partners from the free world support us whenever we demonstrate that we are on the right path,” Radu Marian emphasized.
