The EU Launches Peer Review Mission on Moldova’s Anti-Corruption Efforts

The Ministry of Justice announced that the European Union’s Delegation to Moldova had notified it about the initiation of a peer review mission to assess national authorities. This mission, organized by the European Commission, will take place from March 17 to 21, 2025, and will focus on monitoring efforts to combat corruption and organized crime.

According to the Ministry of Justice, experts from five to six EU member states will visit Chisinau to evaluate how national authorities have handled specific cases from the investigation stage to the final judgment.

The assessment’s findings will be compiled into a report and presented to national authorities, the European Commission and EU member states.

The ministry emphasized that this mission is part of the European Union’s enlargement process and follows the 2023 peer review of Moldova’s justice system and anti-corruption efforts conducted by the European Commission.
