The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, talked on the phone with the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, about bilateral cooperation. This happened in the context of the 30 years since the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The counterparts reviewed developments in the region and talked about economic cooperation between the two countries.
Sandu thanked for the support and humanitarian aid offered to the Republic of Moldova in the management of the refugee crisis, as well as for the support the country got in the process of obtaining the status of a candidate country for joining the European Union.
