Chisinau Hosts the Benelux Moldova Forum: Investors Encouraged to Start Businesses in Moldova

Chisinau is hosting the Benelux Moldova Forum on March 11-12, an investment event bringing together over 30 international companies, businesspeople, investors, top managers, and entrepreneurs interested in Moldova’s economic opportunities. According to Natalia Bejan, head of the Investment Agency, the event will showcase investment platforms to attract more investors to start businesses in Moldova, ipn.md reports.

As the host country, Moldova will present its strategic sectors, investment platforms, and the support schemes offered by the authorities to potential investors.

“We have three main directions. The first is Moldova IT Park, covering IT, digitalization, and services. Many Dutch and Belgian companies are already residents of Moldova IT Park,” Natalia Bejan said during the “Obiectiv Comun” program on TVR Moldova.

The second focus is the state aid scheme for industrialization. “The government supports investors in six specific industries,” she explained. The third direction concerns infrastructure development.

Bejan highlighted that out of the €1.9 billion support package announced by the European Union for Moldova, €100 million will be allocated as direct support for investors contributing to revitalizing local industries.

“The state aid scheme is a strong tool for attracting investments. The first applications have already been submitted, and the Ministry of Economy will announce them soon,” she added.

During the Benelux Moldova Forum, participants will explore economic partnership opportunities such as information technology, vegetable and fruit processing and export, construction, logistics, production lines, and energy infrastructure.
