The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, had a discussion with the head of the European Union Delegation in Chisinau, Ambassador Jānis Mažeiks, about relations with Brussels and our European integration process. This was announced in a press release on Wednesday, February 1st.
The officials reviewed the country for 2023, in accordance with our European integration agenda, but also the actions through which our country plans to accelerate the process of harmonizing national legislation with the Community acquis.
“The head of state emphasized the fact that the responsible institutions are working on the implementation of the Action Plan regarding the fulfillment of the nine recommendations made by the European Commission for granting the Republic of Moldova the status of a candidate country for joining the European Union,” the statement reads.
For now, the EU Delegation in Chisinau has not issued any communiqué with the ambassador’s statements.
