MIA of Moldova and OSCE Discuss Regional Security and Human Trafficking

The utilization of development opportunities between the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MAI) and the OSCE in the context of regional security, as well as in combating human trafficking, was the subject of discussion between the Minister of Internal Affairs, Adrian Efros, and the Head of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova, Kelly Keiderling.

The two officials held discussions during a meeting, with one of the sensitive topics being child trafficking.

“The leadership of the Ministry of Internal Affairs informed OSCE representatives about the launch of the National Mechanism for Reporting Online Child Sexual Abuse Content,” according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The OSCE delegation expressed interest and willingness to provide assistance to the Ministry of Internal Affairs in the policy domain and in terms of technical assistance.

Furthermore, they discussed the need to enhance the capabilities of MAI subdivisions in investigating criminal activities related to human trafficking, as well as the impact of the abuse of modern communication technologies.
