The government’s communication reported that Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration, Cristina Gherasimov, held a meeting with the Ambassador of the United States to Moldova, Kent D. Logsdon.
During the meeting, the officials deliberated on Moldova’s path towards European integration and the advancements made in implementing the most recent three recommendations from the European Commission. In this context, Deputy PM Cristina Gherasimov expressed gratitude for the significant support extended by the USA in combating corruption and strengthening the rule of law in Moldova.
“Moldova’s place is in Europe! Ambassador Logsdon congratulated Deputy Prime Minister for European Integration Cristina Gherasimov on her appointment and discussed Moldova’s achievements in the EU accession process. The Ambassador welcomed the launch of the screening procedure in Brussels last week as Moldova and the EU started the negotiation process and emphasized that the United States supports Moldova’s European aspirations,” the representatives of the U.S. Embassy stated.
