The Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, Nicu Popescu, welcomes the decision of the Council of the European Union which adopted additional assistance within the European Peace Facility worth 40 million euros for the benefit of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Moldova.
“I welcome the decision of the Council of the European Union to adopt additional assistance under the European Peace Facility worth EUR 40 million for the benefit of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Moldova. The support provided will strengthen the capabilities of the units of logistics, mobility, command and control, cyber defense, unmanned aerial reconnaissance and tactical communications of the Armed Forces by providing non-lethal equipment and related services, including training related to said equipment.

According to the official, this assistance will complete the 7 million euro support adopted in December 2021, which strengthens the capabilities of the Military Medical Service and the Engineering Battalion of the Armed Forces.
“It is a common result with the team of the Ministry of Defense and an additional proof of the European Union’s contribution to our country’s capacities to strengthen its national security, stability and resilience”, Nicu Popescu also concluded.
