Speaker Igor Grosu commenced his official visit to the Republic of Latvia with an engaging discussion among Moldovan expatriates residing in Riga for several years. The dialogue encompassed recent developments in the Republic of Moldova, highlighting the significance of 2024 as a pivotal year for our country’s European trajectory, as reported by the parliament’s communication and public relations department.
A focal point of discussion revolved around legislative priorities geared towards enhancing the quality of life for Moldovan citizens, irrespective of their geographical location. Notably, Grosu highlighted the recent approval, in the final reading, of a draft law in social security by the Latvian Saeima—an accord eagerly anticipated by many of our compatriots. Additionally, he announced the imminent launch of a new Chisinau-Riga flight commencing in May.
“In Riga, I had the privilege to meet Moldovans actively engaged in the socio-cultural fabric of Latvia, ardently promoting our cherished traditions,” remarked Grosu.
Accompanied by deputies Alina Dandara and Mihail Druta, Grosu’s official visit to Latvia spans from March 25th to 26th, underscoring the importance of fostering bilateral relations between our nations.
