Annalena Baerbock, the German Minister of Foreign Affairs, made the following statements in Chișinău: “Putin’s efforts to destabilize the Republic of Moldova have failed. Through this Support Platform, we stand shoulder to shoulder with Moldova.”
“During over 600 days of war in Ukraine, Russia is not only trying to destroy Ukraine but is also attempting to destabilize Moldova. The Moldovan government and its citizens have shown that they are strong, resilient, and resistant. We will not allow Moldova to be weakened. At this Platform, our focus will be on providing support for energy, the fight against corruption, security, and refugees from Ukraine.”
“Vladimir Putin’s efforts to destabilize Moldova have failed. Now, we are taking a second step. At this Platform, we will focus on the energy crisis and financial budget stabilization,” mentioned the German Minister of Foreign Affairs in Chișinău.
Over 30 countries and dozens of international and financial organizations are gathering in Chișinău on Tuesday, October 17, to participate in the Support Platform for the Republic of Moldova. The purpose of the event is to mobilize and concentrate the assistance of developed countries for our nation.
The Support Platform for the Republic of Moldova is an initiative of Romania, Germany, and France, aiming to provide political, financial, and material assistance, as well as in-depth expertise for the democratic reform process in the Republic of Moldova.
The first three editions took place in 2022 in Berlin, Bucharest, and Paris. Following these events, development partners announced financial commitments totaling approximately 1.4 billion euros.
According to the latest information provided by the Ministry of Finance, out of the announced funds, over 420 million euros and 42 million dollars have been transferred to the state budget.
