The National Bank of Moldova has kept the prime rate applied to the short-term monetary policy operations at the previous level of 3.6% per annum.
The Executive Committee of the Central Bank decided at a meeting on June 20.
The interest rates on overnight loans and deposits remained unchanged at 5.6% and 1.6% per annum, respectively.

The National Bank last changed the prime rate, applied to the short-term monetary policy operations, on May 7, 2024, reducing it by 0.15 p.p. – from 3.75% to 3.6% per annum. Overall, it has changed three times this year: by 0.5 pp. – from 4.75% to 4.25% from February 6, 2024, by another 0.5 p.p. – from 4.25% to 3.75% from March 21, and by 0.15 p.p. – from 3.75% to 3.6% per annum from May 7 this year.
